Emanuella Amichai is a director and choreographer working in the fields of performance dance and video art. Emanuella is a graduate of the high school Academy of Dance and Music as well as a graduate of the Stella Adler acting summer school NYC, and the Nisan Nativ acting school in Tel Aviv. She holds a bachelor’s degree in the Multidisciplinary Arts program from Tel Aviv University, majoring in theatre and film.  Emanuella's works are both physical, sometimes provocative and always with a very clear aesthetic language, emphasizing both the physical and visual aspects of the human body and condition. Her works have been presented in Israel and abroad and have been commissioned and awarded grants by dance and theatre institutes such as: the BI Arts Foundation, the Israeli Culture Institute, the Rabinovitch Foundation, Move awards, the Israel Lottery Council for the Arts, the Jerusalem Culture Season, the Israel Festival and more.

Her stage works: The Neighbors Grief Is Greener (2013) and Lysistrata-x (2014) have been chosen to be part of the European quality label "Move Award" for outstanding visual performance in Europe.

Emanuella was a member of the Fringe Committee and Head Artistic Producer for the Maabada Theatre in Jerusalem, where she had initiated various events. In the past 8 years she had taught in different institutes including Nissan Nativ acting school, Beer Sheva acting school and private workshops, among others. She currently teaches at the Hebrew University Theatre Studeis Department, teaching performance, acting and stage creation. She also initiated and created the group Merchav, a multidisciplinary theatre group involving students and university graduates living in Jerusalem.
