Lecturer, director, and researcher of East Asian theatre. Dr. Noy is a graduate of Bet Zvi and Tel Aviv University. Her PhD thesis, a comparative study of ancient Greek theatre and the Japanese Noh theatre, is from Pittsburg University, USA. She is a student of the Noh artist Takabayashi Shinji of the Kita school of shitekata in Kyoto.
Her central research areas are: the stage languages of ancient Greek theatre and Japanese Noh theatre; aesthetics and society in the traditional and the modern Japanese theatres. Since 1998 she has taught at the Theatre and East Asian departments at both Haifa University and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Noy also teaches acting and directing at the Drama School of the Kibbutzim Seminary and at the Academic College of the Gallil West.
